New Creative Arts Building Opens on San Francisco State University Campus

For the first time in 25 years, San Francisco State University has opened a new academic building. The project includes the construction of the George and Judy Marcus Hall for the Liberal and Creative Arts Building, which is home to SFSU’s Broadcast and Electronic Communications Arts (BECA) program.

McCarthy Building Companies is the general contractor. Mark Cavagnero Associates is responsible for the design concepts. SWA Group is managing the landscape architecture. Other project participants include Forell|Elsesser Structural Engineers, CSW civil engineering, and WSP for mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP).

Renderings Revealed For 940 Battery Street, North Beach, San Francisco

New renderings have been revealed for a project at 940 Battery Street in North Beach, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the addition of two new floor levels to the existing building. The project requests interior and exterior alterations to support the change of use from a commercial/industrial space to a museum. Fort Mason Center is the property owner. Mark Cavagnero Associates Architects is managing the design concepts and construction.

SFSU’s Liberal and Creative Arts Building Nears Completion at SFSU Campus, San Francisco

Construction is wrapping up on the first new academic building in 25 years for the San Francisco State University’s city campus. The $81 million Liberal and Creative Arts Building will provide a new home for the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Department administrators and the dean’s staff for the College of Liberal and Creative Arts. Mark Cavagnero is responsible for the design.
