Demolition Permits Filed For Westbank Park Habitat at 180 Park Avenue, Downtown San Jose

Demolition permits have been submitted to the city for the existing building at 180 Park Avenue in Downtown San Jose. The application hopes to clear the low-rise convention hall for Park Habitat, a 20-story office building proposed by the international Westbank and local firm Urban Community. The proposed office tower will create an innovative new addition to the skyline, with its distinctive design by Kengo Kuma & Associates, a Japan-based firm.

Renderings Revealed for 201 West Julian Street, Downtown San Jose

New renderings have been published by Studio Gang for Terraine, an 18-story mass timber tower at 201 West Julian Street in Downtown San Jose. The proposal would create new rental housing across from Arbor, the half a million-square-foot office building Jeanne Gang’s firm is also designing. Terrascape, Westbank, and Gary Dillabough of Urban Community are responsible for the development.

New Renderings Published for 420 South 2nd and 3rd Street, Downtown San Jose

Detailed renderings have been published for the three-tower apartment proposal at 420 South 2nd Street and 420 South 3rd Street in Downtown San Jose. Later tonight, the project will be reviewed by the San Jose Historic Landmarks Commission, which is expected to recommend approval for the demolition of the existing structures. Urban Community and Terrascape Ventures are in a joint venture for the development.

Meeting Today To Review DEIR and Potential Skybridge for Orchard Workspace, Downtown San Jose

The San Jose planning department is scheduled to review the draft supplemental environmental impact report for Orchard Workspace in Downtown San Jose at 6 PM today. Orchard Workspace consists of two proposed office towers as high as 301 feet above street level with new retail at 300 South 1st Street and 345 South 2nd Street. The major revelation ahead of the meeting is that a new sky bridge is considered to connect the two office buildings on levels ten and eleven. The project is one of several prospective San Jose projects with Gary Dillabough and Westbank as the joint developers.
