S. Hekemian Group has proposed to replace a surface parking lot with nearly two hundred homes at 600 McAllister Street, at the edge of Civic Center, San Francisco. The proposal, in the works since 2019, has now been approved for a streamlined environmental review process, per section 15183 of the California Environmental Quality Act, i.e., CEQA.
Demolition crews have cleared the former five-story structure that stood at 30 Van Ness Avenue. Next for the property is a mixed-use skyscraper that will expand the high-rise profile of Civic Center’s Market & Octavia Area Plan district, or ‘The Hub.’ Construction will create a 47-story tower with offices, 333 condominiums, and a performing arts space. Lendlease, a multinational Australian-based company behind many high-profile projects worldwide, is the project developer.
New renderings have been revealed for a 41-story proposal at One Oak in San Francisco’s Civic Center neighborhood. The imagery and new details come after an application this summer was filed to request an entitlement revision and increase the dwelling unit count from 319 to 453 units. Now, planning documents suggest the project could create 465 dwelling units. Build Inc. is responsible for the application.
Three demolition permits have been filed to make way for the construction of Kelsey Civic Center, a new eight-story affordable housing project at 234-240 Van Ness Avenue. The proposal will add 112 new residences and ground-level retail across from City Hall in San Francisco’s Civic Center neighborhood. Mercy Housing is the project developer.
10 South Van Ness Avenue, a proposed new skyscraper, is the 16th tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built. The 590-foot tower will add nearly a thousand new apartments to the city on top of a 1.2-acre lot in the Civic Center as part of San Francisco’s high-density planned neighborhood, The Hub. Crescent Heights is responsible for the development.
