Construction has finished for Google’s first mass-timber office at 1265 Borregas Avenue in Moffett Park, Sunnyvale. The site is now adorned by Mothership, a two-ton sculpture by Mike Whiting that pays homage to the original Atari headquarters that preceded the new office. The project is one of the first in the Bay Area to use the burgeoning sustainable construction material.

Construction has topped out for the three largest structures in the transit-adjacent development at 1175 Aster Avenue in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The project is bringing 741 new units of housing and parking for over a thousand cars directly across from Caltrain’s Lawrence Station platform, connecting residents from San Jose to San Francisco. Olympic Residential Group is the lead developer, with townhomes by the Toll Brothers.

BIG-Designed Google Caribbean Offices Facade Installed in Sunnyvale

Construction is wrapping up with facade installation nearly complete for Google Caribbean, the waterfront five-story buildings along West Caribbean Drive in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The zigzagging offices will bring a combined one million square feet of new office space for Google next year. The update comes as Google’s parent company, Alphabet, postponed construction of Downtown West in San Jose in April and put 1.4 million square feet of offices up for sublease last month. Bjarke Ingels Group is the project architect.

A new residential project has been proposed for development at 148-156 Crescent Avenue in Sunnyvale. The project proposal includes the construction of 19 condominiums in multiple three-story buildings. The project also proposes to retain the single-family house built on the site, under the development permits submitted. A separate resource allocation permit has also been submitted to allow for the demolition of an existing residence on the premises. Terra Holdings is the project developer. Bassenian/Lagoni is responsible for the designs. Ripley Design is responsible for the designs.
