Construction work has started for the life sciences project at 777 Industrial Road in San Carlos, San Mateo County. The project will add new space to the peninsula’s ever-growing inventory of R&D offices, one of the largest inventories in the country. Presidio Bay Ventures is responsible for the development.
Recent permit activity shows plans are moving ahead to entitle a Life Sciences building at 2900 Harbor Bay Parkway in Alameda, Alameda County. The project would reshape a vacant 5.5-acre plot of waterfront land with a Research and Development building rather than the existing entitled plans for a Marriott Inn hotel. JLL is responsible for the property’s marketing.
A preliminary design review has been scheduled for a parking structure at 2213 Fourth Street in Berkeley. The project proposal includes the development of a parking garage rising five-stories high. Plans call for the demolition of three existing non-residential buildings and one duplex on the site. Steelwave and Overaa Construction are both on the project construction team.
Plans for a new life science building at 210 Adrian Court in Millbrae is scheduled for review by the city’s planning commission on Monday, May 16th. A new rendering has been revealed for the six-story project, set to rise directly across from the nearby BART Station, end of the line in San Mateo County. Longfellow Real Estate Partners is responsible for the application.
Google has started work on renovating one of the largest freestanding structures in the world, Hangar One in Moffett Field, Mountain View, Santa Clara County. Crews will restore the 1933-built air hangar for Google’s Planetary Ventures unit for technological research and testing. The initial phase will include recoating, which will take around two years.
