The Berkeley Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans today for the potential development of a collection of properties spanning 8.2-acre property in Northwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The preliminary plans suggest the construction of nearly a million square feet serving the region’s growing appetite for life sciences. Perkins&Will is responsible for the masterplan design.
A new project has been proposed for construction at 841 Old Country in San Carlos. The project proposal includes the development of two buildings offering spaces for office and research & development uses. The proposal also involves the demolition of all existing buildings and site improvements. The Sobrato Organization is the project applicant. STUDIOS Architecture is responsible for the designs.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Lane Partners have announced the completion of a recapitalization for the first phase of Southline in South San Francisco, San Mateo County. Southline is the master plan for 28.5-acre development across from the San Bruno BART Station with 2.8 million square feet of life sciences and offices couched with acres of landscaping and a new public park. Construction has already started for the first of two buildings in phase one.
Renderings have been revealed for a four-story laboratory at 1717 Mission Street in the Mission District of San Francisco. The plans would replace the property formerly owned by the corrupt permit expeditor Walter Wong, involved with the City Hall corruption scandal centered around Mohammed Nuru. Wong sold the property earlier this year to the developer Align Real Estate.
The City of Emeryville’s Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tonight for the Bay Center Life Sciences expansion at 6425-6475 Christie Avenue, Alameda County. The development will expand the three-structure campus with a new mixed-function building and a new 596-car garage. Harvest Properties is the property owner.
