The City of Sunnyvale Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for a mixed-use development at 1154 and 1170 Sonora Court in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The buildings will create nearly three hundred homes and office space directly across from Caltrian’s Lawrence Station. SKS Partners and A&F Properties are joint developers.
Urban Catalyst is now considering adjusting plans for Icon/Echo by replacing the office component with more housing in Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The plan was floated by the developer founder, Erik Hayden, and reported by George Avalos for the Bay Area News Group. If altered, Icon/Echo could create over a thousand units from the two-acre parcel.
Plans have been approved for a seven-story affordable housing development at 1304 Middlefield Road on the edge of Downtown Redwood City, San Mateo County. The project will create 94 rental units alongside a community room and amenities. Sand Hill Property Company is the project developer.
Construction has started ahead of schedule for the eight-story affordable housing building in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. The new project is designed by the internationally renowned Office for Metropolitan Architecture, known as OMA, with 160 permanently affordable apartments, retail, neighborhood-serving community space, and a childcare facility at 730 Stanyan Street.
The Canyon, an aptly named 23-story residential tower in Mission Rock, officially opened yesterday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Mission Bay. The celebration kicks off leasing for the 283 apartments, including 102 affordable units, inside the tallest building to open in San Francisco this year. The Canyon is part of the 28-acre master plan by Mission Rock Partners, a joint venture with the San Francisco Giants and Tishman Speyer.
