Construction officially started yesterday morning on the first apartment complex in the ambitious Potrero Power Station masterplan on San Francisco’s formerly industrial waterfront. The first structure to rise will be an affordable workforce housing complex named the Sophie Maxwell Building, with expectations of over seven hundred units to rise with it during the first phase of development. Associate Capital is the project developer.
New building permits have been filed for an affordable senior housing community at 967 Mission Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The nine-story complex will replace the Kapwa Gardens between 5th and 6th Street with nearly a hundred homes. The project is being sponsored by the John Stewart Company and the Bayview Seniors Services organization.
New plans have been filed to repair and rehabilitate the historic Hotel Sequoia at 911 K Street in Downtown Sacramento. The plan will refresh the historical features of the 1906-built six-story and improve interior functions within the Cesar Chavez Plaza Park Historic District. John Stewart Company is the project owner and architect.
Construction has officially started for the new affordable housing on Hunters Point Shipyards’ Blocks 52 and 54 in San Francisco. The bayside project will bring 112 multi-family units at two sites with funding from the Office of Community Infrastructure and Investment. Jonathan Rose Companies and Bayview Senior Services are jointly responsible for the project as co-developers.
San Francisco Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote today on designated $63 million for constructing 112 affordable housing units at 151 and 351 Friedell Street in the Hunters Point Shipyard masterplan. If approved, construction could start next month. The joint developers are Jonathan Rose Companies and Bayview Hunters Point Multipurpose Senior Services.
