Just over a year after the official groundbreaking ceremony, crews have topped out the five-story affordable educator housing development at 1360 43rd Avenue in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The Shirley Chisholm Village has replaced a former school and outdoor yard with the low-rise apartment infill designed by BAR Architects with G7A. MidPen Housing is the project developer, and Cahill is the general contractor.
While Related has topped out for the 23-story apartment tower at 2300 Calle De Luna, work is moving forward on several other mid-rise projects in Santa Clara’s Tasman East Specific Plan. The six structures will rise between six to eight floors high, creating over a thousand and five hundred units, shops, and new open space.
Crews have topped out Kiku Crossing, an affordable housing project at 400 East 5th Avenue, and a parking garage across the street in San Mateo, San Mateo County. The seven-story project has reshaped two transit-adjacent parcels with hundreds of homes and even more parking. MidPen Housing is the project sponsor.
Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a residential project proposed at 1436 Kearny Street in Telegraph Hill, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a four-unit townhome with a garage. The project calls for the demolition of a vacant single-family home on the property and an existing garage at the street frontage. One4Three6 Kearny LLC is the property owner. BAR Architects is responsible for the designs. Farella Braun + Martel is the land-use attorney for the project.
