Permit Activity for 530 Howard Street, SoMa, San Francisco

It has only been two weeks since plans were first announced for the region’s potential second-tallest residential tower, and a flurry of permit activity has already been submitted to the city’s Planning Department. The 72-story proposal for 530 Howard Street is expected to rise 844 feet tall, among the tallest in the country, and could become the third or fourth tallest skyscraper in San Francisco. Bayhill Ventures, the project developer, has also submitted a request for new building permits.

The Oakland Planning Commission has scheduled an in-person meeting to review plans for a 17-story office tower at 1919 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The proposal is a roughly 9-story reduction from the initial office plans for the central location, reflecting the cooling climate for office space in the Bay Area. The Redwood City City Council has unanimously voted to start the environmental review process for Redwood LIFE: Evolve, the redevelopment of an 84-acre mixed-use site in Redwood City, San Mateo County. The decision is a step forward to create a life sciences campus alongside a hotel, amenity center, and 47 acres of green space and trails. Renderings Revealed for 50-Story Skyscraper in Sunset District, San Francisco

Renderings have been revealed for the proposed 50-story skyscraper at 2700 Sloat Boulevard in the Outer Sunset of San Francisco. The 589-foot tall structure hopes to replace the Sloat Garden Center across from the San Francisco Zoo with 680 for-ownership homes and new retail designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz. Raelynn Hickey of CH Planning is responsible for the application.
