Construction has officially started for the six-story affordable housing complex at 1701 San Pablo Avenue in Northwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The groundbreaking ceremony was held by the Berkeley Unified School District in partnership with the non-profit developers Abode Communities and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates. Once complete, the project will offer over a hundred units for educators in the city.
Updated plans have been filed for multi-family housing on a vacant lot along Wallace Street by 24th Street and 19th Avenue in Oakland, Alameda County. The project will bring three units to the Highland Terrace neighborhood. Studio Thai LLC is listed as the project applicant and architect.

The project, named after Councilwoman Maudelle Miller Shirek, was first brought in 2021, with ground-breaking occurring in 2022. Delays caused the building to overshoot its projected opening date in 2024, but the project has now made it to completion, and is moving in tenants.
Planning permits have been filed for a potential residential expansion at 140 Montecito Avenue in Adams Point, Oakland. The application looks to replace most parking and a laundry room with five new ground-level apartments. Eloyan Architects is responsible for the design.
