Renderings Reveal Futuristic San Jose City College Center Complex by Steinberg Hart

Renderings have been released, showing the futuristic design planned for the Career Education Complex at San Jose City College, San Jose. These new designs come from Steinberg Hart, an international architecture firm with roots in San Jose extending back to the 1950s. Once complete, it will offer facilities for career education courses and a welcoming environment for the rest of the campus. The spaceship-like complex is expected to cost $112 million for completion.

Biggest Little Permits of the Week: Facade Repair in SoMa, Treehouse planned in Palo Alto and More

This week, the biggest little permits include over sixty additional dwelling units, a 30,000 square foot new medical facility in Alameda, new monuments in Sacramento, and even a treehouse in Palo Alto. At this pace, over three thousand ADU’s would be produced within a year. Along with ADU’s, nineteen new single-family houses were applied for and thirty-four Tesla power walls across the counties. Perhaps the most surprising was a two-story additional dwelling unit in Palo Alto with an estimated construction price of nearly $1.4 million. If ever there was a point where an ADU became just another single-family house, this might be a contender.

New Office Campus Coming To 2560-70 Orchard Parkway In North San Jose

Takara Bio USA has released renderings showing off their new vision for the two office buildings at 2560-70 Orchard Parkway in North San Jose. The Bio company hopes to develop a campus environment with enclosed courtyards taking over existing surface parking. Each building will have 64,500 square feet of space, making 129,000 square feet of space in total. Tamara paid $44.8 million in May for the properties. The company is a silicon-based component of a Japanese. Currently, they occupy 57,000 square feet of office space at 1290 Terra Bella Avenue in Mountain View.
