Santa Clara County Superior Court has upheld approval for KT Urban to build the 19-story Moxy Hotel at 8 Almaden Boulevard in downtown San Jose. The development will add 272 new hotel rooms with retail to the urban core of Silicon Valley, packing inside the high-rise. The 225-foot tower will yield 146,282 square feet, with a Floor Area Ratio of 16.7. Guest rooms will occupy floors three to eighteen, while the ground level includes an open lounge and a restaurant with a bar. Guests and visitors alike will also have access to a bar on the 19th floor with skyline views.

Alphabet has provided vital financing for a planned affordable housing project at 280 McEvoy Street in West San Carlos, San Jose. The funding comes through Google Endeavor LLC, a lending subsidiary. This comes after Housing Trust Silicon Valley took out a $15.8 million loan to acquire the parcel in 2018, setting a record for the two-decades-old organization.
