Preliminary drawings have been published for the 39-story residential proposal at 2044 Franklin Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The application shows a rough estimate of how a new residential tower could fit within the city’s urban core, creating an estimated 425 apartments above commercial space. The application was filed by Village Glen Oakland 2, LLC, linked to R2 Building.
Crews have finished the concrete foundation pour at 1510 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland for the future 19-story mass timber tower. The project has been designed and developed by Oakland-based oWOW and will eventually become the tallest mass timber building on the West Coast and the second tallest in the country. Once complete, the development will create 222 new homes above commercial and retail space.
The development permit has been filed along with new renderings for the 46-story 323 22nd Street, or Two Kaiser Plaza in Downtown Oakland. Town Tower, poised to become the tallest residential tower in Alameda County, will create 596 apartments alongside a dizzying 734-car garage. CIM Group is the project developer.
The Oakland Planning Commission is scheduled to review the two project plans for 1431 Franklin Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The property, less than half an acre, could produce nearly half a million square feet of office space or 381 new homes. For now, Tidewater Capital is pursuing entitlements for both versions, each with a different design.
Samuel Merritt University has secured a $139 million bond for constructing their proposed ten-story central campus at 525 12th Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. Along with the bond, SMU is investing $120 million. The over quarter billion dollar investment keeps SMU on schedule for groundbreaking later this year, having received approval in November. Strada is the project developer.
