The State of California has helped secure new funds for 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The Department of Housing and Community Development has awarded $37.9 million towards a 168-unit affordable housing proposal for the vacated site. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.
Development plans have been published for an eight-story residential project at 4590 Patrick Henry Drive in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County. The proposal aims to replace a low-slung office complex by Mission College and a Levi Stadium surface parking lot with hundreds of homes in the Patrick Henry Drive Specific Plan. Walnut Hill Group is the project developer, represented by KASA Partners.
The Emeryville Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for the three-building affordable housing proposal at 5890, 5900, and 6150 Christie Avenue tomorrow. The proposal will create retail and 362 homes for a mix of household sizes by the Public Market and the city’s Amtrak station. EAH Housing is responsible for the application.
The City of Sunnyvale Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for a mixed-use development at 1154 and 1170 Sonora Court in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The buildings will create nearly three hundred homes and office space directly across from Caltrian’s Lawrence Station. SKS Partners and A&F Properties are joint developers.
Urban Catalyst is now considering adjusting plans for Icon/Echo by replacing the office component with more housing in Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The plan was floated by the developer founder, Erik Hayden, and reported by George Avalos for the Bay Area News Group. If altered, Icon/Echo could create over a thousand units from the two-acre parcel.
