New building permits have been filed for the nine-story affordable housing plan at 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The 168-unit infill has been designated a priority by the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development to streamline approval. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.
Construction financing has been secured for the six-story affordable housing development at 551 Keyes Street in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The $87 million project will replace the vacant parcel with 99 homes. Charities Housing is the project sponsor.
A multi-family residential building is available for sale at its property site at 1174-1178 Folsom Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the sale of a multi-family residential building built in 2021. Greenseed Folsom Land LLC is the property owner. The City and County of San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing has submitted a proposal to purchase the residential complex. The project is designed by David Baker Architects.
Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new mixed-use project at 430 Broadway in the Jack London district, Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of three buildings offering commercial spaces and up to 300 residential units at affordable rates. The project calls for the demolition of an existing four-story government building and associated surface parking on the site. Related Companies and East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) are the project developers. David Baker Architects is responsible for the design, with Y.A. Studio operating as the associate architect. EinwillerKuehl is responsible for landscape architecture.
New Building permits have been filed for two affordable infills with a total of 272 apartments at 1633 Valencia Street and 3485 Cesar Chavez Street at the border of Bernal Heights and the Mission District of San Francisco. One permit is listed as a priority under the San Francisco Mayor’s Office’s Executive Directive 13-01, designed by Mayor Ed Lee in 2013 to expedite the approval process for designated plans. Mercy Housing is developing 1633 Valencia Street, and Sequoia Living is developing 3485 Cesar Chavez Street.
