Plans for a 40-story residential tower in Downtown Oakland are moving forward now that a neighboring business owner has dropped an appeal following an agreement with the city. The proposal would bring 381 units to what is currently a surface parking lot at 1431 Franklin Street in the heart of the urban core. Tidewater Capital is the project developer.
Preliminary plans have been filed to convert the former residence of Henry J. Kaiser into an event space at 664 Haddon Road in Cleveland Heights, Oakland. The century-old home could host small events for 20 to 40 attendees. Kaiser Permanente purchased the site in early 2017.
Revised plans have been filed for 550 27th Street in Pill Hill, Oakland. The updated permit replaces the five-story, 44-unit multifamily proposal with 86 affordable senior housing units across seven floors. Adam McClure of Accel Equity V LLC is listed as the project developer.
Development permits have been filed for a new three-story apartment complex at 1825 28th Avenue in Oak Tree, Oakland. The plan would replace the surface parking lot and empty land next to an existing six-unit infill without demolishing the homes. Tranvu, a San Jose-based company, is listed as the property owner.
Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new mixed-use project proposed at 8201 MacArthur Boulevard in Castlemont, Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of a new five-story mixed-use building offering spaces for residential and retail uses. Zara Construction Group is the project developer and designer.
