Construction has topped out with facade installation nearly complete for the 39-story mixed-use tower at 1900 Broadway in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. An official ceremony was held yesterday morning, attended by the project team and construction workers. Behring Companies is the project developer, with Suffolk as the general contractor.
New plans have been filed for new single-family housing on four mini-lots from 4035 Park Boulevard in Oakland’s Trestle Glen neighborhood. The plans will replace a vacant corner lot with four new units, representing a minor density increase from neighboring residences. Workshop1 is the project architect and applicant sponsor.
Construction has reached the fifth floor of the 330-unit apartment complex at 2359 Harrison Street in Northgate-Waverly, Oakland. The project, led by Holland Partner Group, has already demolished surface parking and low-slung commercial structures. The tower is rising across from Vespr, another project by the same developer.
Plans are moving forward to adaptively reuse the historic Palace Theater at 1445 23rd Avenue to become a new location for the BayTech Public Charter School by Fruitvale, Oakland, within Alameda County. Maven Commercial and Newmark sold the property for $2.2 million.
New plans have been filed to the Oakland Planning Commission for a new religious community hub at 5901 College Avenue for the city’s Rockridge neighborhood. The plans would repurpose an existing office space and create a new home for the non-profit Jewish Community Center of the East Bay, remaining in Alameda County. Equity Community Builders is responsible for the application.
