New building permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building for 335 3rd Street, located in Jack London District, Oakland. The project, named R2 Building, will bring 38 houses to the waterfront neighborhood, of which three will be sold as affordable to residents making up to 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). RAD Urban is responsible for the development.
Development permits were filed for the approval of remodeling the building at 2327 Fruitvale Avenue in Foothill, Oakland. The project proposal includes converting the existing single-family residence into a triplex. The current residence is a two-story single-family dwelling. The project also provides for the construction of a rear attached three-story addition. 3R Studio is managing the design concept and construction of the residential development.
A new Marriott-owned hotel is quickly rising at 1431 Jefferson Street, just two blocks from Frank H. Ogawa Plaza in Downtown Oakland. The concrete structure has reached the half-way point in its march to the 18th floor. Once complete, it’ll open up 276 hotel rooms, of which roughly half will be managed by a Marriott Residence Inn and the other half by the Marriott-owned AC Hotel. Hawkins Way Capital is responsible for the development after fully purchasing the property in 2019 for $30 million.
New building permits have been filed to construct four single-unit structures at 3559-3589 Coolidge Avenue, located in Oakland’s Dimond District. The project was approved in 2018, at which time the previous owners sold the entitlement for nearly half a million dollars. Planning permits were filed in 2019 for a three-unit plan by Ripple Ideas LLC, but the filing remains incomplete, and the new building applications show the four-unit plan moving forward.
