The project would replace a vacant lot with two new buildings with over five hundred affordable homes, with fast-tracking thanks to Senate Bill 35 and 330. AMG & Associates is responsible for the development.

The development will create two structures: a six-story office building with retail and a low-slung retail space for local artists made from salvaged shipping containers. Signature Development Group, or SDG, is responsible for the project.

The new design by Gensler contrasts a dark blue curtain wall skin with black metal mullions, with corner terraces offering an open space for future employees with panoramic views south of the city and Lake Merritt. The project, to be called Dr. Kenneth Anderson Senior Living, will build on the surface parking lot of Williams Chapel Baptist Church with 68 affordable homes and replacement parking for the church.
