New Plans for Affordable Housing at 1271 East Julian Street, San Jose

New permits have been filed to replace two single-family homes at 1271 and 1279 East Julian Street with just over three hundred units of fully affordable housing. The updated filing has more than doubled the dwelling count for the proposal in the Five Wounds neighborhood in San Jose, close to the planned 28th Street/Little Portugal BART Station. Builder’s Remedy Proposal for 1.4K Units in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County

A preliminary application has been filed to construct over a thousand affordable housing units along Airport Boulevard and Brickway Boulevard near Santa Rosa in unincorporated Sonoma County. The filing invokes the Builder’s Remedy to sidestep local zoning and develop the vacant parcel of land next to a small domestic airport between Santa Rosa and Windsor. Gallaher Community Housing is the project sponsor.
