Facade installation is nearly complete for the San Jose State University’s Interdisciplinary Science Building by Downtown San Jose. The eight-story building, dubbed the ISB, has replaced three older structures across the campus, centralizing facilities for several science disciplines. Flad is the project architect.
The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for the Energy Hub Tower, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group for Downtown San Jose. The proposal aims to create nearly two hundred homes, offices, retail, and public open space all inside a 21-story pants-shaped building. The proposal is part of the Westbank Campus for San Jose, developed in partnership with Urban Community.
El Paseo de Saratoga has been approved by the San Jose City Council. The project would bring new density to an area defined by suburban sprawl along Santa Clara County’s western edge. Constructions will replace a portion of a strip mall with nearly a thousand new homes, offices, and a new Whole Foods grocery store at 1312 El Paseo de Saratoga and 1777 Saratoga Avenue. Sand Hill Property is the project developer.
The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for Icon-Echo, a mixed-use development to reshape 2.1 acres by San Jose City Hall with housing and office space. The document provides local neighbors in Downtown San Jose with an opportunity to provide input about the project. Urban Catalyst is responsible for the proposal.
A new residential project has been proposed at 101 South Jackson Avenue in San Jose. The project proposal includes the development of 14 townhomes. The project site will be subdivided into 16 lots. The permits also request the removal of two ordinance-sized trees on the site. Habitat for Humanity is the project developer. Jett Landscape Architecture + Design is the landscape architect.
