Construction has officially started on the Peace Plaza Renovations in San Francisco’s Japantown. The project aims to transform the open space with new vibrance and cement its status as a community landmark. Mayor London Breed and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi were in attendance at the official groundbreaking ceremony.
Renovation work has been proposed for a public park located at 9600 Sunnyside Street in East Oakland. The project proposal includes the renovation and revamping of the Verdese Carter Park. Trust for Public Land is listed as the project applicant.
Details plans have been published for the first structure within the Freedom West 2.0 masterplan in San Francisco’s Fillmore District. The seven-story proposal will bring over a hundred units of affordable senior housing to the corner site at 880 McAllister Street. MacFarlane Partners is the project applicant, working with Avanath Capital Management.
Updated preliminary permits have been filed for the eight-story infill at 2450 and 2480 Shattuck Avenue in Downtown Berkeley. The project will bring a new mid-rise apartment complex with nearly a hundred homes close to BART and the UC Berkeley Campus. Austin Group and Chicago-based CA Ventures are jointly responsible for the development.
