Renderings have been revealed for the 15-story adaptive reuse of the California Theater at 2113 Kittredge Street in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. The project would create 214 homes and a new live theater. Gilbane Development Company is responsible for the application.
The Berkeley Design Review Committee is scheduled to review plans for the seven-story residential infill at 1752 Shattuck Avenue in North Berkeley, Alameda County. The project would replace a closed auto-repair shop with 68 new homes and retail. Panoramic Interests is the property owner and applicant.
The final design review application has been filed for 797 Bancroft Way in Southwest Berkeley. The project proposal includes the development of of a three-story building offering spaces for light manufacturing and research and development use. Plans call for the demolition of five existing buildings and relocation and alteration of the sixth building on the site. The project is being developed by San Mateo-based Steelwave LLC. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is the project architect.

The project proposal includes the development of a new six-story mixed-use building offering residential spaces, live-work units, parking, and onsite amenities.
