The Berkeley Design Review Committee is scheduled to review plans for a potential 23-story tower at 2029 University Avenue in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. The project developer, Laconia Development, has filed two similarly-sized variants for multi-family or student housing.
The UC investment arm acted through affiliates to purchase a large hotel in Downtown Berkeley. The purchase appears to be an financial investment by the University of California and not a specific expansion of the UC Berkeley Campus. As such, there are no immediate plans for conversation of the building’s use or layout.
Pre-application plans have been published for a mixed-use infill at 162 Clara Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project would create a four-story structure with one apartment and one light industrial space. San Francisco-based JS Sullivan is listed as the project applicant.
The City of San Ramon has approved plans for a new affordable housing community at 2453 Camino Ramon within the Bishop Ranch master plan. The project entitlements allow the team to add 200 units across two structures. Eden Housing is responsible for the development.
New building permits have been filed for a five-story apartment complex at 5230 Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento. The entitlements were approved in early 2024 and sold late last year. The Sutter Capital Group is responsible for the development.
