In the latest news for a project at 2500 76th Avenue, development permits have been filed, allowing for the progression of the project to its next stage and eventual construction. The large-scale project in the Eastmont neighborhood of Oakland was first reported on by SF YIMBY in August of last year. Since then, the project has seen rapid progress towards approvals, with various permits being filed this year.
A meeting is scheduled for today to discuss the possible extension of a Major Use Permit and Design Review Approval for 6445 Christie Avenue in Emeryville. Harvest Properties originally brought the project in 2022, but has yet to break ground despite being approved by the City of Emeryville. The meeting today will determine if they are allowed to extend the development timeframe another year or if the project is dead in the water.
Preliminary plans have been submitted for the construction of a new location for Fire Station 4 at 1711 14th Avenue in Clinton, Oakland. The proposal would bring the neighborhood an updated facility four blocks away from the Oakland Fire Department’s current 116-year-old facility. The Oakland Public Works Department is responsible for the application.
Berkeley’s Design Review Committee is set to review the preliminary designs for a new development at 2942 College Avenue in the Elmwood neighborhood. MARDAN and SRUE Corps is sponsoring the project to demolish a single story commercial building and replace it with a pair of two-story structures on the site. Studio KDA is responsible for the new building designs.
A single-family home at 811 Cedar Street in Berkeley is to be demolished and reconstructed in to a mixed-use office and residential space. The building will rise 34 feet high near the Corner of Cedar Street and Sixth Street, creating a notable increase in prominence compared to the existing 18-foot structure. Stackhouse De la Peña Trachtenberg Architects are responsible for the new building designs.
