A recent Zoning Worksheet application has been filed and subsequently withdrawn for 2040 Telegraph Avenue in Downtown Oakland. Both applications are mixed-use buildings with housing, either for a 27-story tower with lab space or a 43-story high-rise with offices and a theater. The project is on the same block as the city-owned and landmarked Paramount Theater.
Development permits have been issued for the supportive housing portion of 821 Pine Street in West Oakland. Holliday Development is responsible for the project. Lowney Architecture is responsible for the designs, with David Baker Architects leading the master development plan. Miller Company is responsible for landscape architecture.
The development team tells YIMBY that construction will start next week for the eight-story apartment at 2480 Bancroft Way in Southside, Berkeley. The Edge, as it is called, will overlook the UC Berkeley Campus by the busy Telegraph Avenue intersection. Ruegg & Ellsworth is the project developer.
Preliminary plans have been filed for a new eight-story residential development at 2450 and 2480 Shattuck Avenue in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. The application is the first glimpse at a mid-rise complex that would replace two low-slung commercial structures. Gordon Commercial Real Estate Services, one of the city’s largest property owners, is responsible for the application.
A new update has been released announcing the inauguration of the Albany Village Graduate Student Apartments at 1050 Monroe Street in UC Berkeley. The project proposal includes the construction of a graduate student housing complex spanning an area of 300,000 square feet. Albany Village Graduate Student Apartments will be adjacent to UC Berkeley’s existing University Village family housing community.
Kevin Daly Architects is responsible for the designs. Ayers Saint Gross and American Campus Communities are also part of the team. CMG Landscape Architects is responsible for the landscape.
