Plans have been floated for a six-story affordable housing development on the Edward Shands Adult Education Center campus in East Oakland, Alameda County. The pre-application would add 113 apartments at 2455-2501 Church Street, including four dozen units of housing for the unhoused within three existing two-story structures. The Oakland Unified School District is the property owner.
