Reduced plans have been filed for an expansion to the Glide Foundation community facilities at 334 Ellis Street in the Tenderloin, San Francisco. The project is now set to replace a surface parking lot with a seven-story social services building next to another Foundation-owned building at 330 Ellis Street and the Glide Memorial Church Building. New documents were posted for the Arbor Building, part of the site development at 255 West Julian Street in San Jose. The Downtown site was part of an original proposal to construct a 14-story office building with ground-floor retail space. However, in 2024, SF YIMBY reported on a shift in project plans to create an 18-story mixed-use building.
Preliminary permits have been filed for a new cul-de-sac on Thorndale Drive in the Forestland neighborhood of Oakland, Alameda County. The proposal, named Bonnington Court, looks to add ten homes to a hillside property surrounded by eucalyptus trees. Mehdi Shafiei and Mahat Marashi are listed as the project applicants.
The San Francisco Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tomorrow for an eight-story apartment complex at 222 Capp Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. The proposal aims to replace a surface parking lot with 70 rental apartments, located less than two blocks away from the 16th Street BART Station. 2101 MS Property Holdings LLC, linked with Deutsche Bank, is listed as the property owner and applicant.
Two complimentary affordable developments are now completed on adjacent sites at 237 and 253 Race Street in San Jose’s Sunol-Midtown neighborhood. The project entitled Belliarmo Place opened doors to 116 affordable units last fall. Meanwhile, the project entitled Alvarado Park opened 90 senior affordable housing units just last week. Both buildings were developed by the Santa Clara Housing Authority with The John Stewart Company stepping in as the property managers.
