Construction work is finishing up on Google’s Charleston East, a canopy-covered bespoke office building designed by two international architecture firms, Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios. The 111-foot tall project is located at 2000 North Shoreline Boulevard, by the Mountain View waterfront and across from the Shoreline Amphitheatre and the Googleplex. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is the project owner.
Concrete has topped out for a new affordable housing project at 681 Florida Street, located in San Francisco’s Mission District. The nine-story project, named Casa Adelante, has replaced low-slung commercial structures with 130 new homes. The Mission Economic Development Agency and Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation are joint developers.
Construction work is nearly complete for 88 at the Park, a five-story residential development at 88 Arkansas in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. The sales center is expected to open this Spring, across the street at 73 Arkansas Street. The 127-unit project was developed by First City Development.
Construction work is moving forward for 1580 Pacific Avenue, a six-story development rising on the northwest edge of Nob Hill, San Francisco. The project started by demolishing an existing commercial structure and surface parking. The new building will create 53 new homes, designed by San Francisco-based RG Architecture.
A recent site visit has shown notable progress on demolition and excavation for the 2,600-home Potrero Power Station development nine months after groundbreaking. Crews have removed several structures while retaining the historic Station A and 300-foot smokestack, both brick structures will serve as focal points in the 29-acre waterfront development in Dogpatch, San Francisco. Associate Capital is responsible for the project.
