Building permits have been issued for an eight-story residential building at 37 8th Avenue in the waterfront Brooklyn Basin development near Downtown Oakland. This comes after an April site visit spotted a newly-built platform rising over the waterfront for 37 8th Avenue, also known as Parcel J. Cityview is the project developer after purchasing the piece from masterplan developer Signature Development Group.

Concrete has reached the fifth floor in constructing an affordable housing building at 681 Florida Street in San Francisco’s Mission District neighborhood. The development is expected to add 130 affordable dwelling units along with open space and a ground-floor home to an arts-related organization. The Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) and the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) have partnered as project developers.

The 29th tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built is 706 Mission Street, the nearly complete residential building operated by Four Seasons Private Residences in SoMa, San Francisco. The skyscraper tops out at 510 feet to be the tallest building in the region actively under construction since activity on the Oceanwide Center was halted last year. Westbrook Partners is responsible for the development through 706 Mission Street Co LLC.
