Move-ins for Phase One of 5M Expected This Fall, SoMa, San Francisco

Rapid progress has been made across the four acres between Mission, Fifth, and Howard streets for the 5M mixed-use project in SoMa, San Francisco. Facade installation has passed the halfway point for the 395-foot office building at 415 Natoma Street, while the 20-story residential tower at 434 Minna Street has just three floors left to be covered. A groundbreaking event for the new Mary Court park occurred last Thursday with Mayor London Breed and Brookfield Properties in attendance.

SFSU’s Liberal and Creative Arts Building Nears Completion at SFSU Campus, San Francisco

Construction is wrapping up on the first new academic building in 25 years for the San Francisco State University’s city campus. The $81 million Liberal and Creative Arts Building will provide a new home for the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Department administrators and the dean’s staff for the College of Liberal and Creative Arts. Mark Cavagnero is responsible for the design.

Number 39: 333 Market Street, SoMa, San Francisco

The 33-story office building at 333 Market Street is the 39th tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built with a rooftop height of 472 feet tall. The skyscraper was built between 1979 and 1981 by developer Shorenstein Properties in SoMa, San Francisco. With diamond-shaped precast concrete columns extending uninhibited from the street to the parapet, the modernist tower is the design of Los Angeles-based Gin Wong & Associates.
