Crane Sections Delivered for 47-Story Tower at 30 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco

Several sections of a construction crane have been delivered yesterday afternoon to 30 Van Ness Avenue, a recently-cleared lot in San Francisco’s Civic Center. Crews finished demolition of the five-story office building this January, and now the site is primed for excavation of the city’s tallest skyscraper in the Hub, and the second tallest in the city after the Transbay Parcel F by Hines and Urban Pacific. Australia-based multinational real estate company Lendlease is the developer and contractor of the 47-story mixed-use proposal.

New renderings have been revealed ahead of an Architectural Review Board meeting for the seven-story residential infill at 6131 Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon, Contra Costa County. The project is part of the 4,500-unit CityWalk masterplan poised to reshape the heart of the growing Tri-Valley city. Related Companies is the project application.

New Building Permits Filed for 100% Affordable Balboa Reservoir Block F, San Francisco

New building permits have been filed for Balboa Reservoir Block F, a 100% affordable housing project within the 17-acre masterplan. The filing comes just a month after the design review application for Block F was approved by the San Francisco planning commission. Balboa Reservoir is a joint venture between BRIDGE Housing and AvalonBay Communities.

The new office is phase one for the developer, Federal Realty, with plans for a second large office building, refurbishing the historic dome theater, and an unreleased project for the vacant property across Olsen Drive.

A Special Planning Commission Meeting has been scheduled for tonight to review plans for a six-story residential infill at 959 El Camino Real in Millbrae, San Mateo County. The project will replace a single-story commercial structure and surface parking with 278 homes and 349 parking spaces, with some affordable housing. High Street Residential is the project applicant and owner.

1,075-Unit Freedom Circle Greystar Project Approved by CEQA

The City of Santa Clara has published its approval of the environmental review of the Freedom Circle Greystar Project, a multi-structure residential project at 3905 Freedom Circle, Santa Clara County. The development will create 1,075 new homes, a new public park connecting to the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail, and ground-level retail. Greystar is responsible for the application.

Permits Issued for 389 Ninth Avenue in Brooklyn Basin, Oakland

The Planning Commission has issued new building permits for 389 Ninth Avenue in Oakland’s waterfront development, Brooklyn Basin. The six-story building, also called Parcel A2, or Foon Lok East, will contribute 124 affordable housing units to the 3,700-unit masterplan. MidPen Housing Corporation is the building developer, with Signature Development Group responsible for the master plan.

The new HQ will be in the Millbrae Offices and Life Sciences campus, currently under construction across from the Millbrae Train Station. The company will be moving to San Mateo County from its current location in Hayward.

The project will create 311 units on 1.7 acres within walking distance of the Millbrae BART Station, using the State Density Bonus program to increase residential capacity and include affordable housing. Carmel Partners is leading the application.
