CEQA Review Positive for 3000 Bowers Avenue Plans by Lawrence Station Area Plan, Santa Clara

The Sobrato Organization has received good news for plans to build new offices at 3000 Bowers Avenue in Santa Clara. The project aims to add a third of a million square feet of office space just outside the Lawrence Station Area Plan. The review process as part of the California Environmental Quality Act, or CEQA, has determined that mitigation measures will ensure construction has no significant effect on the environment.

New Building permits have been filed for a residential infill at 1925 F Street in Boulevard Park, by Downtown Sacramento. The project will replace low-rise commercial buildings and surface parking with 50 new homes. Sacramento-based Cassadyne Properties and El Dorado-based Gavden Investments are responsible for the development.

New renderings have been revealed for yet another proposed single-family residence in the Oakland Hills. The single-unit structure is to be built at 13193 Skyline Boulevard, Oakland. Ben Tarcher Architects, a Bay Area-based firm operating since 1974, will be responsible for the design.

Since our last coverage, several important milestones have been achieved for the American Buddhist Cultural Society’s proposal to replace the San Bao Temple at 1750 Van Ness Avenue in Nob Hill, San Francisco. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has tweaked the design, San Francisco’s planning commission approved the Conditional Use Authorization in September, and the building permits were filed in November.

Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a mixed-use project proposed at 1217 Sutter Street in Polk Gulch, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the development of an eight-story mixed-use building offering commercial and residential spaces. Plans call for the partial demolition of the existing commercial building that spans an area of 4,270 square feet.

The development would build 18 acres of a 44.14-acre property, including a wine cave network, restaurant, and octagonal building with views across the oak woodlands. The development will cover an eighth of 13 acres, building 23 townhome-style structures around several open spaces. All units will be affordable.
