Facade Installation Nearly Finished for 5M Phase One, SoMa, San Francisco

A year after SFYIMBY first covered San Francisco’s only new office tower to be delivered in 2021, construction work is wrapping up at 5M on 415 Natoma Street and 434 Minna Street in SoMa. Located by the 5th and Mission Street intersection, Brookfield is readying the new office tower and residential tower, expanding the high-rise plateau southwest of the Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Center. Brookfield and Hearst are jointly responsible for the billion-dollar project.

A previously approved high-rise building from 2019 at 2190 Shattuck Avenue in downtown Berkeley is undergoing design revisions. The approved project proposal includes the development of an 18-story apartment tower on a site that currently houses a Walgreens store. Mill Creek Residential is the project developer. WRNS Studio is the architect and is responsible for the design concepts.

Preliminary Permit Filed for 1526 Powell Street, Russian Hill, San Francisco

The preliminary project assessment application has been filed for a new multi-family residential development at 1526 Powell Street, in the eastern corner of Russian Hill, San Francisco. The project will rise six floors from the John J. DeLucchi Sheet Metal Works building, preserving the facade and adding twenty apartments to the San Francisco housing market. JS Sullivan Development is responsible for the project.
