A year after SFYIMBY first covered San Francisco’s only new office tower to be delivered in 2021, construction work is wrapping up at 5M on 415 Natoma Street and 434 Minna Street in SoMa. Located by the 5th and Mission Street intersection, Brookfield is readying the new office tower and residential tower, expanding the high-rise plateau southwest of the Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Center. Brookfield and Hearst are jointly responsible for the billion-dollar project.

High-Rise At 2190 Shattuck Avenue In Downtown Berkeley To Undergo Redesign

A previously approved high-rise building from 2019 at 2190 Shattuck Avenue in downtown Berkeley is undergoing design revisions. The approved project proposal includes the development of an 18-story apartment tower on a site that currently houses a Walgreens store. Mill Creek Residential is the project developer. WRNS Studio is the architect and is responsible for the design concepts.

Preliminary permits have been filed for a multi-unit residential development at 2380 16th Avenue, just south of Sacramento’s Curtis Park neighborhood. The project, to be called the Orchard Springs Apartment, would rezone four vacant parcels to build sixteen units across two buildings.

The preliminary project assessment application has been filed for a new multi-family residential development at 1526 Powell Street, in the eastern corner of Russian Hill, San Francisco. The project will rise six floors from the John J. DeLucchi Sheet Metal Works building, preserving the facade and adding twenty apartments to the San Francisco housing market. JS Sullivan Development is responsible for the project.

The four-story proposal will replace surface parking with eight new apartments. LPAS Architecture + Design is responsible for managing the design and development.

General Plan Referral Filed for 530 Sansome Street, Financial District, San Francisco

The General Plan Referral has been filed for The Related Companies mixed-use tower at 530 Sansome Street, a requirement ahead of a Board of Supervisors’ vote to approve. The proposal would replace Fire Station 13 in San Francisco’s Financial District. Two distinct project variants are being considered for the rest of the tower, to build either a 200-guestroom Equinox hotel with a gym and offices or 256 apartments. The development is a public-private partnership with Related, the San Francisco Bureau of Real Estate, and the San Francisco Fire Department.

New Large Industrial Complex Planned At 2222 Qume Drive In North San Jose
