African American Holistic Resource Center Planned at 1890 Alcatraz Avenue, Berkeley

A new three-story building has been proposed for use as the African American Holistic Resource Center (AAHRC) on a project site located at 1890 Alcatraz Avenue in Berkeley. The project proposal includes the development of a three-story facility to host services to benefit the African American community with education, employment, health, mental health, and housing advocacy and support. The City of Berkeley is the property owner. The design team includes the AAHRC Steering Committee, City Staff, and AE3 Partners, Inc.

Renderings Revealed For 23-Story Tower at 2029 University Avenue, Berkeley

New renderings have been published alongside zoning permits for a 23-story tower at 2029 University Avenue in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. Project developer Laconia Development has submitted two concurrent plans for residential or student housing within the identically-sized high rise. Either way, the team is pursuing one of the tallest projects in the city’s pipeline.

SFYIMBY Year in Review: December 2024

For the last twelve days of 2024, SF YIMBY will look back on each month and reflect on the biggest stories we covered.
