The Berkeley Zoning Board has unanimously approved permits for 2190 Shattuck Avenue, one of the tallest buildings in the city’s pipeline. The 25-story project is expected to rise from the Downtown Berkeley core with 326 homes above retail. Landmark Properties, the project applicant, is likely to start construction as soon as next summer.
Plans have been filed for a residential project at 541 Goettingen Street in Portola, San Francisco. The plans will replace a vacant lot with a new four-bedroom single-family house. Stephen McEvoy of KS Development is listed as responsible for the application.

The 495-unit project had been appealed in a high-profile decision by the Board of Supervisors in 2021. Its second push through the planning process has come with a new streamlined appeals process designated by Governor Gavin Newsom. BUILD is the project developer.
New illustrations have been revealed for a three-story apartment complex at 4127 Martin Luther King Junior Way in Longfellow, Oakland, Alameda County. The short infill aims to create 14 new homes directly across from the MacArthur BART Station. Bitzer Banker Development is responsible for the application.
DevPro CRE has listed the full-entitled 237-unit apartment project at 1530-1544 West San Carlos Street in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The 1.34-acre property is listed for around $41 million, giving a future developer the option for new housing west of Diridon Station. Urban Villas LLC was the former project developer.
