Plans Surface for 71-Story Residential Tower in SoMa, San Francisco

Bayhill Ventures has announced plans for a new skyscraper at 530 Howard Street, overlooking San Francisco’s Salesforce Park. Initial plans shared with media this morning suggest the tower would stand 840 feet tall, making it the third tallest structure in the city skyline if built today and the second tallest in the city’s pipeline. Bayhill Ventures is a relatively new firm led by the former chief at Hines, Paul Paradis, and former president of the Sobrato Organization, Rob Hollister.

Construction Topped Out for Affordable Educator Housing in the Sunset District

Just over a year after the official groundbreaking ceremony, crews have topped out the five-story affordable educator housing development at 1360 43rd Avenue in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The Shirley Chisholm Village has replaced a former school and outdoor yard with the low-rise apartment infill designed by BAR Architects with G7A. MidPen Housing is the project developer, and Cahill is the general contractor.

Elevations for Proposed Caltrain-Adjacent Tower in San Francisco

New elevations have been published for the double-tower proposal at 655 4th Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project is one of the largest in the city’s pipeline, aiming to create over a thousand apartments on 1.6 acres directly across from Caltrain’s San Francisco Station. Tishman Speyer, the same company behind the nearby Mission Rock master development, is the project sponsor.
