Major Office-to-Residential Conversion Planned for CityView Plaza San Jose

In a major pivot, developer Jay Paul Co. has decided to convert a large portion of the ongoing CityView Plaza project from office to residential. The site, at the northeast corner of Almaden Boulevard and Park Avenue in Downtown San Jose, will transform an existing four-office building campus into 320 units, rebooting construction on the project which paused last year due to poor market conditions.

Meeting Tomorrow for 30 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco

The San Francisco Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for the stalled 47-story tower at 30 Van Ness Avenue tomorrow at noon. The project has remained an empty hole since 2023 in the center of the city’s once-burgeoning Market-Octavia Area Plan. Australian developer Lendlease hopes that modifications to the approval may make the project more financially feasible, in part, by removing affordable housing.

Permit Progress for 2700 Sloat Boulevard, Sunset District, San Francisco

New preliminary permits have been filed for the proposed 22-story tower at 2700 Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The filing comes nearly two months after the first planning application for the 22-story iteration was submitted to the city’s planning department and nearly nine months after the sensational 50-story skyscraper was withdrawn. Housing America Partner and San Francisco Housing Development Corporation are jointly responsible for the project.

22-Story Plans for 2700 Sloat Boulevard in Sunset District, San Francisco

Once again, plans are shifting dramatically for the potential redevelopment of the Sloat Garden Center in San Francisco’s Sunset District. After over a year of seeking approval for a 50-story tower at 2700 Sloat Boulevard, the previous developer withdrew plans in May of this year. The new joint venture has submitted plans to create over four hundred apartments in a 22-story tower.
