Construction Imminent for Phase Two of Potrero HOPE SF Development, Potrero Hill, San Francisco

Construction is expected to start soon for phase two of Potrero HOPE SF, a development plan to replace 619 affordable units with 1,700 new residences, of which 819 will be sold below-market-rate. The developers have already finished phase one, and they tell SFYIMBY construction will start this month on phase two, including 1801 25th Street in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. BRIDGE Housing is developing the project, with the San Francisco Housing Authority as the property owner.

Development permits were submitted seeking approval to construct two new six-story hotel buildings on 247-295 Commercial Street, Sunnyvale, Silicon Valley. The project proposal includes erecting two hotel buildings totaling 274 hotel rooms, an underground parking garage. Site improvements are also a part of the proposed commercial development.

The project will provide new apartments along with a sizable ground-level retail space. Vera Cort of Cort Properties VC is listed as responsible for the development as the property owner.

New renderings have been released for Westbank’s mixed-use building, Park Habitat at 180 Park Avenue, Downtown San Jose. The illustrations came with the Westbank Campus Website launch, which provides a manifesto to connect the Canadian firm’s five Silicon Valley proposals with their innovative approaches that address climate change and encourage community through urban design. Each of the five projects has a unique goal. With Park Habitat, Westbank worked with Kengo Kuma & Associates to design a building that brings together offices and natural spaces in the city center.

Construction is underway for the unusually shaped office building at 2000 North Shoreline Boulevard, nearby the waterfront in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. The project is a low-slung structure designed by high-profile architects; it is a collaboration between Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios. Google is responsible as the developer and future tenant. Uniquely and in many ways true, Heatherwick Studios describe the project “as Google’s first bespoke office building.”

The project proposal includes a vertical addition to the existing structure featuring retail space on the ground floor and a new building that will allow for a five-level mixed-use building. The addition proposes 34,120 square feet of office space and 2,353 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

The proposal will bring offices and an L-shaped footprint for apartments around a fourth-story courtyard.
