SFYIMBY Year in Review: November 2023

For the last twelve days of 2023, SF YIMBY will look back on each month and reflect on the biggest stories we covered. November saw the Builder’s Remedy used for a potential tower in Palo Alto and reduced project sizes in San Jose. Sunnyvale approved more housing next to Lawrence Station, and Berkeley upzoned the busy Southside neighborhood. YIMBY visited Sacramento to see the construction of a rising courthouse tower, and a new developer catapulted themselves into the spotlight with a potential 844-foot tall residential tower in San Francisco.

SFYIMBY Year in Review: October 2023

For the last twelve days of 2023, SF YIMBY will look back on each month and reflect on the biggest stories we covered. October’s highlight was the joint announcement for a future $2 billion research center by UC Berkeley and NASA in the Ames Center in Mountain View. In San Francisco, YIMBY documented affordable housing rising in SoMa and the Sunset District, while Related Companies celebrated their ribbon cutting for a nine-story affordable complex by the Balboa Park BART Station.

SFYIMBY Year in Review: September 2023

For the last twelve days of 2023, SF YIMBY will look back on each month and reflect on the biggest stories we covered. September saw increased residential capacity for 955 Sansome Street, Icon/Echo, and the Stonestown Galleria masterplan. Renderings were revealed for the North Berkeley BART Station redevelopment, and the San Francisco Symphony Hall revealed new elevations by Mark Cavagnero and Gehry Partners to remodel the exterior and interior. Lastly, the city’s commercial office market saw two major stories with the sale of 350 California Street and a new lease in Mission Rock.
