Construction is wrapping up on the adaptive reuse of 100 Stockton Street in San Francisco’s retail hub, Union Square. The former Macy’s men’s store has been reskinned with the design by Gensler. Now, just over a year after signing a rooftop restaurant, the team has secured 65,000 square feet for Convene, a hospitality start-up.
The local Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for an eight-story podium apartment complex at 3411 Capitol Avenue in Fremont, Alameda County. The car-oriented development will incorporate 90 homes, retail, and parking for 192 cars. SPSD Developers is the project owner and developer.
A new hotel has been proposed fro construction at 39888 Balentine Drive in Newark. The project proposal includes the development of a new five-story hotel offering guest rooms, onsite amenities and parking. The project requires the demolition of the existing building on the site that is being used as a restaurant (9,953 square feet). SKL Associates Inc is responsible for the designs.
New reporting by the San Francisco Chronicle shows plans for the residential tower at 98 Franklin Street are increasing residential capacity to 385 units in a deal with the city’s Board of Supervisors that will include a new affordable housing property bought by the developer for the city. The agreement was made between Supervisor Dean Preston and the developer, Related Companies.
The development permit has been filed for a three-story residential infill at 681 27th Street in West Oakland. The proposal, dubbed Cedar Court, will bring 16 new homes to a vacant lot between two major transit arteries connecting Alameda County. Emeryville-based Gunkel Architecture is responsible for the design and application.
