UC Law San Francisco has completed construction on The Academe at 198, a mixed-use building with student housing and classrooms at 198 McAllister Street in Civic Center, San Francisco. The 14-story structure is the second phase of the Academic Village redevelopment led by UCSF and Greystar.
Permits have been filed for a residential project approved for construction at 1121 I Street in Downtown Sacramento. The project proposal includes the construction of an eight-story residential building offering 204 units. Plans call for the demolition of an auto service shop and low-slung commercial structures on the site.
Updated plans have surfaced for a 15-story affordable housing tower to rise at 758 and 772 Pacific Avenue in San Francisco’s Chinatown. The city purchased the property in 2017 after a campaign by the late Rose Pak, an influential political activist for the neighborhood. While initial plans considered building between 50 and 80 units on the lot, this recent application has proposed constructing 175 apartments and a new banquet hall.
Alameda County has started accepting applications for affordable rental units in the Maudelle Miller Shirek Community Building in South Berkeley. The six-story project is offering 86 units across from the Ashby BART Station and near Berkeley Bowl. Prospective residents will have until February 12th to apply for the lottery drawing.
