The plan for a new river crossing the Sacramento River has been approved by City Councils in Sacramento and West Sacramento. The project, dubbed the Broadway Bridge, would connect the two cities, each in separate counties. The move is a major step forward for the bridge, though the project remains a long way off from materializing, with completion expected between 2030 and 2035.
A new office building has been proposed for development at 480-490 South Mathilda Avenue in Sunnyvale. The project proposal includes the development of a four-story building offering office spaces and onsite parking. The project proposes to demolish the existing 13,543-square foot office building and 6,212-square foot commercial building on the site. The project site currently contains 23 trees. The Minkoff Group is the project developer. is responsible for the designs.
The Milpitas Unified School District has broken ground on the system’s newest addition, the Innovation Campus. The new facilities will be able to serve students from two high schools and an adult school within the Santa Clara County city. Quattrocchi Kwok Architects is responsible for the design.
New renderings and updated plans have been filed for a two-unit residential infill at 1047-49 Clayton Street in Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco. The application is the fourth structure to arise for the sloped streetscape by the same architecture firm, each proposal offering a variation of a modern aesthetic. Ty Bash is the property owner.
Construction work has topped out with facade installation well under-way for Genesis Marina, a life sciences campus in Brisbane, San Mateo County. The project will create over half a million square feet of rentable floor area for the region’s ever-growing biotech industry. Architecture is by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
