Renderings have been revealed for a new four-story single-family building at 3669 21st Street in Noe Valley, San Francisco. The proposal will be a luxury addition to the abandoned parcel, with design from the same architecture firm behind one of the most expensive homes ever sold in the city. An additional dwelling unit, or ADU, will be included on the first level. PBC Holding LLC is responsible for the development as the property owner.

New building permits have been filed for the Sacramento Canopy Hotel planned for 1116 9th Street in Downtown Sacramento. The proposal is for a 14-story mixed-use structure with residencies, hotel, and retail use. Venture Oaks Real Estate Group is responsible for the application, filing through the Sacramento Capitol Hotel LLC.

New building permits have been filed for a seven-unit residential building at 2841 Tradewind Court in Alameda’s Bay37 development. The 7-plex will contribute to as many as 400 units on a waterfront 22.8-acre property site looking over Oakland’s Jack London Square. Pulte Homes is responsible for the development.

Rehabilitation Permits Approved For 300 Checkers Drive, San Jose

Permits have been filed and approved for the preliminary review of residential buildings at 300 Checkers Drive, San Jose. The project proposal includes the acquisition and rehabilitation of forty-nine buildings containing 700 units. The residential buildings stand on the northeast corner of Checkers Drive and McKee Road and span over approximately 0.67 acres. Community Preservation Partners, LLC, is managing the project.

The developer Urban Catalyst has purchased the lots required to build a 184-unit residential project at 486-498 West San Carlos Street in Downtown West, San Jose, and inside the Diridon Station Area Plan. The project will provide new housing right near the existing transit station, of which nine will be sold as affordable for very low-income residents.

The total area of three lots is 6,750 square feet, with each lot measuring 2,250 square feet. The building facades are proposed to rise to a height of 40 feet. There’s a new project afoot. SFYIMBY plans to highlight the 52 tallest skyscrapers planned and completed in San Francisco as of January 1st, 2021. This list will include towers nearly a century old and projects that haven’t even broken ground. We start with 52nd place, Studio Gang’s MIRA at 160 Folsom Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The 422-foot tower opened its doors last year, but even before opening, the building has garnered significant attention with a twisting facade responding to the city’s historic architectural vernacular.

Development permits have been submitted and are anticipated to be approved for the mixed-use development at 450 O’Farrell Street in Tenderloin, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the demolition of three existing buildings and the construction of a thirteen-story mixed-use building. The new structure is planned with similar massing: a commercial space on the ground floor and a new church. However, it additionally features 302 group housing rooms instead of 176 residential units. The project is part of a grander scheme to build a new Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, with Forge Development Partners responsible for the project.
