Urban Catalyst has submitted an extension request for the Icon/Echo project at 147 East Santa Clara Street in Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The team is looking to extend the entitlement approvals by another two years, allowing more time to shore up financing before starting construction.
New renderings have been released following the property sale of the historic Bank building at 700 J Street in Downtown Sacramento. The plans first surfaced at the beginning of this year to transform the existing offices into Hotel Eleanor, with guest rooms and a restaurant across from the Golden 1 Center arena. Developer Roger Hume is responsible for the project.
The San Jose Planning Director is scheduled to review plans for the two 16-story commercial towers to rise at 33-91 South Montgomery Street in front of the historic Diridon Station. The project aims to create 1.2 million square feet of office space above a mixed-use public plaza activated with retail, entertainment, and landscaping. Caltrain is the property owner and applicant.

Today, the property at First and Mission remains an unfinished hole in the ground, collecting dust and water.
Final approval has been given for the Mission Point master plan at 3005 Democracy Way, Santa Clara. The wide-ranging development would construct four different structures with between 1,800 to 2,600 apartments, up between two to three million square feet of commercial real estate, retail, public open space, and a childcare facility across nearly fifty acres.
