Hines Gets Loan Extension for 61-Story Parcel F, San Francisco

Permits are approved, and construction was expected to start two years ago, but now the site remains undisturbed while the project developer has received an extension for two loans totaling $80 million. Both JPMorgan Chase Bank and United Overseas Bank have pushed the deadline for Hines through October for two $40 million loans pertaining to the 61-story proposal at 550 Howard Street in SoMa, San Francisco. If built today, the mixed-use tower could become the fourth tallest tower in the city.

Construction has topped out for the new six-story office infill at 531 Bryant Street in SoMa, San Francisco. With concrete reaching its peak, the first pieces of the facade can be spotted wrapped around the second floor. The project is being developed by Urban Land Development with financing from Washington Capital.

Concrete and steel structures are rising between Kifer Road and the Caltrain tracks at 950 Kifer Road in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The development is set to become the new headquarters for Intuitive, a medical technology firm. London-based Foster + Partners is the project architect.

Construction Finished for Mass Timber Offices in Moffett Park, Sunnyvale

Construction has finished for Google’s first mass-timber office at 1265 Borregas Avenue in Moffett Park, Sunnyvale. The site is now adorned by Mothership, a two-ton sculpture by Mike Whiting that pays homage to the original Atari headquarters that preceded the new office. The project is one of the first in the Bay Area to use the burgeoning sustainable construction material.

Google’s North Bayshore Campus Approved In Mountain View, Santa Clara County

Santa Clara City Planning Commission has granted approval mixed-use development proposed by Google in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. The project proposal includes the development of a large-scale property lot with thousands of residences, open space, public spaces, and office spaces. The site is occupied by 69 buildings. Demolition will be required for all but one of the existing structures.

Construction is wrapping up with facade installation nearly complete for Google Caribbean, the waterfront five-story buildings along West Caribbean Drive in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The zigzagging offices will bring a combined one million square feet of new office space for Google next year. The update comes as Google’s parent company, Alphabet, postponed construction of Downtown West in San Jose in April and put 1.4 million square feet of offices up for sublease last month. Bjarke Ingels Group is the project architect.

The Burlingame Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for two eight-story commercial development at 620 Airport Boulevard along the waterfront of Burlingame, San Mateo County. The project would reshape the nearly four-acre property with new office or R&D space surrounded by public landscaping. Boca Lake Office, linked with San Francisco-based developer Lawrence Lui and Vassar Properties, is the property owner.

The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story hotel offering guestrooms, onsite parking, outdoor dining and other amenities. Casa Linda Motel LLC is the property owner and project applicant.
