Construction work is finishing up on Google’s Charleston East, a canopy-covered bespoke office building designed by two international architecture firms, Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios. The 111-foot tall project is located at 2000 North Shoreline Boulevard, by the Mountain View waterfront and across from the Shoreline Amphitheatre and the Googleplex. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is the project owner.
New renderings have been published for Menlo Flats, an eight-story residential infill located at 165 Jefferson Drive in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The project will replace a single-story office building with housing, offices, public open space, and parking. Greystar is responsible for the application, filing through Menlo Park Flats Venture LLC.
New plans have been filed to renovate an existing three-story office building at 69 Green Street in North Beach, San Francisco. Construction would open up each floor space, producing a modernized speculative office space just one block from the Embarcadero. San Francisco-based architecture firm FORGE is responsible for the design.
Duke Realty has filed a pre-application for the redevelopment of the AB&I Foundry Site in Oakland’s Coliseum Industrial neighborhood. The plans would demolish the iron foundry, which started in 1906, to build a speculative LEED Silver industrial building with offices, a loading dock, and parking. McWane Inc is the property owner backing this application.
The GLIDE Foundation has submitted the preliminary project application for modernized facilities and a new ten-story office tower at 334 Ellis Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. The $200 million plans would expand institutional capacity, improve its accessibility for community services, and modernize the existing Glide Memorial Church building systems. EHDD Architecture will be responsible for the design.
