At last Wednesday’s meeting, San Jose’s Planning Commission approved the development plan of a 13.68-acre site at 2256 Junction Avenue in North San Jose. The original project plans brought by Duke Realty and Kimley Horn engineering and design consultants were approved in September of 2021, but this latest site-plan approval will allow the project to move forward
In a major pivot, developer Jay Paul Co. has decided to convert a large portion of the ongoing CityView Plaza project from office to residential. The site, at the northeast corner of Almaden Boulevard and Park Avenue in Downtown San Jose, will transform an existing four-office building campus into 320 units, rebooting construction on the project which paused last year due to poor market conditions.
Preliminary plans have been filed for a life-science industrial project at 405 and 455 Harbor Boulevard in Belmont, San Mateo County. The proposal aims to create around 812,000 square feet of offices and parking for over a thousand cars. Beam Reach Properties is the project developer.
The draft environmental study has been published for the eye-catching 41-story office/hotel tower and a replacement for Fire Station No. 13 at 447 Battery Street and 530 Sansome Street in San Francisco’s Financial District. The proposal shows optimism from the developer that the demand for high-end office space will return. Related California and the City are jointly responsible for the project in a public-private partnership.
Preliminary plans were published late last week for a potential redevelopment of the Hillsdale indoor mall in San Mateo, San Mateo County. Initial details include the demolition of nearly three-quarters of the shopping center’s facilities, leaving just the North Block untouched as the remaining acres are transformed into nearly fourteen hundred units of housing, retail, and multi-level garages. Sares Regis Group is responsible for the application.
