New renderings have been shared ahead of a public project review this Thursday for an eight-story residential infill at 2480 Bancroft Way in Southside, Berkeley. The project will build up the low-slung parcel with 125 bedrooms and retail in the busy neighborhood next to the UC Berkeley Campus. Ruegg & Ellsworth is the project developer.
A new housing project has been approved for construction at 1244 Cherry Street in San Carlos. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story apartment complex offering affordable homes for rent. The onsite office structure and the remaining housing units will be demolished. Nonprofits HIP Housing and Eden Housing have teamed to form Cherry Street Commons as the project developers.
Construction is wrapping up with facade installation nearly complete for Google Caribbean, the waterfront five-story buildings along West Caribbean Drive in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The zigzagging offices will bring a combined one million square feet of new office space for Google next year. The update comes as Google’s parent company, Alphabet, postponed construction of Downtown West in San Jose in April and put 1.4 million square feet of offices up for sublease last month. Bjarke Ingels Group is the project architect.
The Burlingame Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for two eight-story commercial development at 620 Airport Boulevard along the waterfront of Burlingame, San Mateo County. The project would reshape the nearly four-acre property with new office or R&D space surrounded by public landscaping. Boca Lake Office, linked with San Francisco-based developer Lawrence Lui and Vassar Properties, is the property owner.
A mew hotel project has been proposed for development at 1669 Monterey Road in San Jose. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story hotel offering guestrooms, onsite parking, outdoor dining and other amenities. The project calls for the demolition of five commercial structures totaling 20,500 square feet, removal of eight ordinance-size and three non-ordinance-size trees. Casa Linda Motel LLC is the property owner and project applicant.
